Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Cedarhurst Psychological Services is located at 2275 Swallow Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220, in Building 1000. We’re situated in The Bourse office park just south of Greentree Road, nestled in the woods bordering Mt. Lebanon and Scott Township. Our office is on the first floor, shared with Direct Pediatric Care. If you enter through the building’s front door, follow the stairs down one flight to find us. Prefer to avoid the stairs? Park in the rear by the Building 800/900 sign—the back entrance opens directly into our suite.

What ages do you treat?
I see adults 18 through 99.
What are your hours?
Cedarhurst is open Monday through Friday, except Tuesdays. Hours are flexible depending on patient needs, and limited evening sessions are available. All sessions are by appointment only—we do not accept walk-ins.
Do you provide telehealth services?
Yes, telehealth is an available option for patients located in Pennsylvania. Dr. Bowie cannot see patients who are located outside of PA at the time of service. For a telehealth session, all you need is an internet capable device (e.g. laptop, tablet, or phone) with a camera. Cedarhurst uses a HIPAA compliant video platform. Details will be discussed once your appointment is scheduled.
Do you provide psychological assessment services?

How do I get started with therapy?
Getting started at Cedarhurst begins with filling out the appointment request form. All sessions are by appointment only. Walk-ins are not accepted.
How much does therapy at Cedarhurst cost?
Intake sessions are $225, and hourly therapy sessions are $195.
If you will be using health insurance, then your out-of-pocket cost for each session will depend on the specific plan. Your plan might require a co-pay and it might have a deductible or co-insurance arrangement. You are strongly encouraged to contact your insurance company to confirm if you have a co-pay or deductible.
If you have insurance for which Cedarhurst is NOT in network, then you will be responsible for the full amount at the time of session. However, we can provide you with a superbill upon request, which you may give to your insurance company for reimbursement.
The Insurance and Fees page has more information.
How long does it take to be seen and is there a waitlist?
Availability varies depending on current openings in Dr. Bowie’s schedule. Rather than a traditional waitlist, new clients are scheduled when an opening arises that fits their availability. When scheduling aligns, appointments can sometimes be arranged within the same week. If your availability is limited or doesn’t yet match current openings, there may be a longer wait. Please note that timely placement cannot be guaranteed.
Are you able to prescribe medication?
No, not at this time. Referrals are available upon request.
Do you provide clinical supervision?
Yes. Dr. Bowie provides clinical supervision for doctoral residents and provisionally licensed clinicians working toward licensure as a psychologist in Pennsylvania. The fee is $150 per hour. Dr. Bowie is also available to contract with pre-doctoral programs for supervision services.
